Newly reappointed manager the Ireland coach has selected skipper Caelan Doris in his Ireland roster for the fall internationals, however Joe McCarthy misses out.
Doris, who has not played since having a shoulder operation in early May, recently returned to Leinster training, with doubts lingering if he will be ready to play against New Zealand in the US on 1 November.
Lock Joe McCarthy, on the other hand, was not considered after failing to recover from the foot injury he sustained during the first Lions Test against Australia in July.
Northern province player Izuchukwu and southern province winger Calvin Nash are also absent due to fitness concerns, and number 15 Keenan had already been ruled out after undergoing a hip operation after the Lions tour.
Dublin province prop Paddy McCarthy - the brother of Joe - is the sole uncapped player in the 34-man group, but the Irish Rugby Football Union says new provincial duo Edwin Edogbo and Gleeson and once-capped western province wing Shayne Bolton will travel to Chicago as "backup".
Following facing the All Blacks at Soldier Field in a rematch of their previous meeting, the team will play the Brave Blossoms, Australia and world champions the Springboks in the Irish capital.
"It's an exciting group to the squad and there's an opportunity for the veteran players and for the newcomers on the recent tour to the Lelos and the Lobos," commented Farrell, back to national team duties after taking a sabbatical to coach the Lions tour to Australia.
In a largely experienced squad, the Dublin club's Sam Prendergast and the southern club's Jack Crowley will again compete for the first-choice number 10 spot. The fly-half role is still up for grabs, as Prendergast and Crowley set to face off for the first occasion in the upcoming United Rugby Championship game at Croke Park.
Frawley is the additional number 10 chosen as the coach deciding not to selecting the province's Harry Byrne.
At scrum-half, the Ireland boss has picked Lions tourist Gibson-Park and Craig Casey, who captained the national side to the summer international victories over Georgia and Portugal. There is also a return for Connacht's Caolin Blade, chosen to club-mate Ben Murphy.
Robbie Henshaw, Bundee Aki, Garry Ringrose and Stuart McCloskey form an experienced group of midfield options. Jamie Osborne is a further choice in the midfield, though the 23-year-old is additionally a leading candidate to cover for the full-back at number 15.
Outside backs James Lowe, Mack Hansen, Tommy O'Brien and Jacob Stockdale are named. O'Brien shone on his first Ireland outings over the summer with two tries apiece in the victories over the Lelos and Portugal.
McCarthy is the only new addition in the Irish forwards. The loose-head prop has been in a couple of his province's URC league games this season and featured in Ireland A's defeat by England in Bristol earlier this year.
McCarthy was included in interim boss O'Connell's summer selection, yet did not earn a international appearance.
Munster second row Thomas Ahern, who earned his first two caps in those matches, is kept in the squad, and veteran Northern province second row Iain Henderson is back after missing the summer matches.
Conan, who started all three Lions Tests during the tour, is poised to cover for Doris if the captain fails to recover fitness in time to play New Zealand.
The Ireland squad will meet in Dublin on the start of the week before traveling to Chicago on the following day.
