The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 was met with widespread acclaim, especially for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, simultaneous player numbers peaked at nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, regardless of its fanfare, many players are voicing discontent with some of the game's hardest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.
Users have commenced resorting to personalized games made via the custom game tool to complete them, underscoring just how arduous these missions have become.
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. It features four categories of assignments, but where most simply offer skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the only way of acquiring twelve from the forty-one main guns present in the game.
Several of these gated guns could shortly find their way on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Over on Reddit, players are justifiably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most egregious examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
"This challenge is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
Meanwhile, hipfiring an LMG is highly imprecise and only works at point-blank proximity, which is not usually a position you aim to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that mission would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.
One more community participant pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the marksman rifle class to unlock the PSR:
This is challenging enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at those extended distances.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and perhaps an additional option at a push if you want to snipe from a significant distance.
However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.
However, when tackling the tasks in a normal session feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for completing them in a personal session so allies are not impaired?
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are toned down in the next few updates, because if they're not, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.
At the moment, the audience continues to express their views on these strenuous battlefield assignments, hoping for a fairer overall gameplay in future updates.
